So, I'm intending to use the 1275's mechanical fuel pump, since it's there and can't really be any less reliable than the SU one (let's not get into that discussion, eh?).

Anyway, the fuel pump is located about halfway down the exhaust side of the engine, and I was pondering - how would people recommend I route the fuel pipe?

At the moment, obviously, it goes to the standard position up near the back of the engine bay - options are, I guess:

- along the bottom of the engine bay and up
- Around the side of the engine bay and across

Which'd be better?

Any route which keeps it as far away from the manifolds as possible!

You may be interested to know that Joe has benefitted from the addition of aluminium adhesive tape on the vertical section of the fuel line and a angled plate shielding the curved section leading to the pump. With a 1275 engine, single downpipe and several hard drives of up to 20 miles and 80mph I have yet to have any fuel related problems.
