Custom minors

Can any one point me in the right direction to find out more about custom minors along the lines of which model Jag Irs is the best for cutting to fit, how to fit how to chop a roof etc?

DON`T DO IT, i`ve got some massive scrapyards near me chock a block with 80s stuff that are just crying out to be saved, chopped, stretched, lowered, whatever takes your fancyhow to chop a roof etc?

Seriously, any Jag back end can be cut to suit. 2 of my friends have jag back ends on their Minors within the original wings and retain near original ride height. It depends on what style you wish. My series 2 has an S type rear in unaltered width, but the wings are 4inch oversize, however the hub carriers are trimmed so as not to foul inner wing. In fact if I removed the jag axle, I could refit the original leaf springs in short order.
Wheel size will dictate whether you have to alter inner wings or not, but certainly on my friend's Minors they have been modified.
If you wish pictures etc let me know.
Roof chopping on a Minor is not simple, and I have not seen one that I think improves on the original lines. It can be done, but usually glass is the biggest problem - go for a splitscreen for an easier job.

There's a number of companies that offer this service - mostly advertise in Custom Car. I've also seen it done myself, and it involves shortening the drive shaft and the bottom arm. It is not too expensive to get done I believe. You can also buy the top mounting and loads of other dress up accessories for it. The assembly is better removed from the Jag 'cage' for use in other vehicles. I enclose a link to the UK Hotrods site, which explains in depth how to mount one.
