Yes, that's the seal I'm on about. It has a 'lip' on the top. I was asking if this 'lip' was pointing outwards or inwards...

Ah right, yes, I seem to remember you saying about the seal before, but I could not remember which way around you said you had yours fitted.

They always come off at the corners eventually though & IMHO aren't as effective as the later seal.
Actually, the bootlid that I got with my 1963 saloon had the seal on the lid which I had to remove as I have repaired (welded) the bottom edge, and I had a spare early type 'body' seal sitting in the boot of my other later car. So I thought I'd fit the early type as I already had one and I think a 1963 car should have the early type... Seems to work well though pointing inwards.
