Hi,
My gearbox has developed quite a large leak from the front end, i take it there is an oil seal around the input shaft is this easy to replace once the box is removed? if so could someone please link me to the correct part on the ESM site
Cheers
Martyn
Ps its a 1098 standard box

If it's just the seal then easy enough - but it could be that the front bearing in the box is failing and allowing excessive movement of the first motion shaft - hence oil coming out. But how do you know it's from the box - and not from the back of the engine ?

definately gearbox oil and not engine oil, once the box is out is there a test i can do to see what is happening?

It's the same oil in both engine and box - or at least it's supposed to be !
