coil polarity

Starting to get 1961 positive earth moggie back on road. Have a lot to learn! Acquired new coil. Old coil is marked SW and GB. New coil is + and -. How do these correspond please. 
If you are positive earth then the '+' contact is connected to the
black/white lead which goes to the side contact on the dizzy.
