Water temp guage
Where should I wire the live feed for a water temp guage to on a car with a gold faced speedo? it doesn't seem to have the voltage regulator like the black faced one!

If you do not have a voltage regulator then pick up the live feed
from the fuse which has all the green wires on it. connect to the
'green wire' side and it will work. you will get a variation on the
reading because it will not be constant voltage but it will work.

Never done that ,but if you do,then note the side with the single
light green wire on it. This is the regulated side where you should take
the feed for your gauge from.

Not if you do it correctly. The only problem I have heard of in
this type of installation is that the voltage stabiliser had burned out
because it could not handle supplying the fuel gauge AND the additional
gauge but this seems rare and,in your case, you will only be supplying
one gauge.

Aye, I've got my temp gauge coming off from the stabilised side of the voltage regulator (although, to be honest, none of the voltage regulators I've tried (I think I've been through three) - seem to give either a terribly stable or sensible voltage). But the gauge seems to read about right (it's probably underreading a touch).
