I seem to have a problem that the needle on my speedo has dropped off and is lying at the bottom of the glass! Is this a problem that I can fix, if so how do I go about it. Or do I have to get a new one. Dont know if it makes any diffenence the car is a 1961 4door saloon. Thanks in advance for any help

It can be fixed (the speedo comes apart from the crimps at the back) but it will be hard to get the needle in the correct place.
So it may be worth to send it off for repair (eg one of the places that does speedo calibration) or get another speedo, or use trial and error..

Electrical? I think this probably needs a helpful moderator to move it to Mechanical. Sorry not to be more helpful, BTW...

Sorry Ray, another cross posting.

Are there any recommended places for getting the speedo repaired / calibrated, if trial and error doesnt work?

But then again, the speedo does have lights, voltage regulator, and fuel guage attached to it, and they're all electrical; plus all the dash switches are close at hand. I'd give it the benefit of the doubt.
