The wiper sweep on my '66 car seems abit short. the wipers stop just past vertical leaving a huge area unswept to the right of the driver. before i take the arms off and experiment with the splines can anyone give me a rough idea how far the tip of the blade should be (at maximum sweep) from the screen edge on the drivers side?

My wipers were doing a full sweep, ie nearly to the window rubber, but then all my electrics went awol for a few seconds and ever since then the sweep has been 2 or 3" short of original position, this is totally inexplicable and probably not much help but i thought i would relay my little anecdote anyway as it is the most exciting thing that`s happened in Poole in a while

Oh I don't know. We delivered a load of furniture to the Brownsea Island ferry the other day. [Dong.....dong....(tumbleweed passes)]

The wiper sweep is dependant upon the offset of the drive plate cam in the wiper motor that pulls/pushes the long drive cable. I believe that the Minor is 150 degrees sweep off the top of my head. This is why if you change to a 2 speed wiper conversion using a Mini wiper motor you need to take the drive plate from a minor motor and modify it to fit a 2 speed motor. I believe a Mini sweep angle is 130 degrees.

I recon you have the wrong wiper motor fitted. Take the top off and through the grease have a look at the drive plate to see if 150 is stamped on it.

It's also possible that the wrong wiper boxes have been fitted. A different size gear in here can also affect the sweep.

This may sound a fairly stupid suggestion but what condition are the wiper-arm springs in?
Mine have lost all springyness and consequently seem to vary their sweep every few seconds. With decent springs the arms don't have any 'wobble' in them - making for much more precise sweeping.
