Rearview visibility (mirrors)

Hello all
Newby here!!
We've just got a minor van and would like to improve rearview vision. Can anyone recommend bigger mirrors and whats the best way to mount them without making too many (if any) holes. I've seen the little period ones that clip on the quarterlight frame but dont think these will improve things enough. I thought perhaps some caravan extension mirrors might be the answer but haven't found any suitable ones yet.

I have a new/old stock Tex caravan wing mirror which I haven't got round to fitting.
it's still with it's box, which is a bit battered, but the mirror is perfect.
you can have it for a tenner plus p&p.

Chilly,
Don't write off the quarterlight clipon mirrors too soon. I've had mine for 30,000 miles and have found them to be fine. Including continental driving. Because they are so close to you you get a good view IMHO.

I use one on each of the pick ups, and IMHO they are indispensable - a MAJOR difference, on a car with a blind spot the size of Wales and the height of Nelson's column, covering an area the size of 3 football pitches...

it's different on a van woo, the back sticks out in the way...
all you can see is the other side of the road.
what chilly wants is to be able to see behind the van.
I've driven for miles not knowing if anything was tailgating me...the only way to tell is on bends.
the interior mirror only shows the central solid bit where the doors meet...
I have noticed, if I glance over my shoulder, that I can see the road behind perfectly, so I'm considering moving the mirror towards thr passenger side a smidgin to view out of the back door windows.
I have a clip on mirror too....that one doesn't give any better view than the wing mirror, just a bit closer....it also covers a different blind spot to the wing mirror (mines looking at the rear wheel area for reversing...as is my N/S wing mirror)

Spot on!
Trouble is all the caravan mirrors I've looked at so far fasten on to the cars A pillar mirror. Ideally I'd like to be able to remove the bigger mirrors at rallies etc. I think I may have to adapt something from a breakers yard

That's interesting, I didn't realise vans had that problem. But then do van drivers look behind them anyway
