Wheel trim

Post by iddy »

Can someone advise me on how to stop the wheel trim rattling? The hub cap is a tight fit and ok, but the trim behind rattles something awful over uneven roads. It doesn't seem to be loose as such and I don't really want to put plastic ties on it.

Cheers
Idris.

If you mean the accessory wheel trims made of aluminium, you could try gently prising the inner edge outwards to get a tighter fit against the hub caps. Alternatively take them off and sell them on ebay!

Vernon, how could you suggest such a thing
First things first, but not necessarily in that order.

Personally I just take them off and try and resist the urge use them as frisbees . I guess I just don't like them as they seem unneccessary and chinzy (a bit like tie backs and flowery borders)

Yes, I'm not a big fan of them either, but each to their own I guess.

** just noticed ** Hey, Ray, looks like you have got one on the front wheel of your '54! :o

Yes - it came with a bent one and a fairly good one.

Yes you can get reproductions, but I'm a bit of a skinflint and it will also mean dipping into my boy's nights out fund!
