Switching to flashing brake lights, what to do?

How big a job is it to replace my rear amber horrible lenses with the systems of the later cars('56-'62), using the 8 way relay? Do I need another wiring loom? I do know there are more wires to go to the back.

It's a reasonably sized job to convert to the 8-way relay system (and expensive as the relay is not cheap). Why not convert back to original Series 2? Safety?

Well, actually yes, and preservation of Trafficators in town use. But I might do. I would like to keep them up front, with roundabouts etc. What should I change? If I remove the rear indicators, surely the front two would go mad

 Yes, they would go mad (unless you used a lower rated flasher or loaded the unit) but perhaps your idea of the flashing brakelights is not a bad one. If you are OK with electrics then you could make a unit with relays which would perform the same as the 8-way relay and be a lot cheaper.

I am absolutely hopeless when it comes to electrics, I'll buy an 8 way relay and a manual....

Good luck, those relays cost 50 quid, i looked at the wiring diagram & it would appear you have to rewire alot of it into the relay & back out.

Ive decided to keep my side lights in the new powerfull halogon headlights & refit early sidelights which will only act as flashers. giving it the original look without the hassle. I might keep my later rear lights of fit early ones & fit extra round indicators.

I have alreday changed the front sidelights to suit a double filament bulb. I just want to get rid of those 'orrible amber indicators.
