ok sorry I know I keep on popping up with these questions but thats what its about isn't it? Right grovelling over, has anyone changed the indicator stalk on the column for a more modern type that would incorporate the dipswitch as well, if so could you tell me which car it was from and how easy a fit it is please, thanks a load, Barry (1967 2 door called Fay)

Hi Barry,

I think you can actually buy these new from places such as Birmingham Minor Centre. I don't know how difficult they are to fit etc, but I've also driven a K series with a modified box on the steering column which housed a newer (mini?) indicator stalk/flasher.

It depends on your skills at fabrication as to weather you're going to find a problem in fitting one.

Personally, I quite like the dipswitch on the floor ( but it is hell when you need to depress the clutch and dip your lights at the same time!)

:D

... and a tad awkward if you have size 9 feet. And wear steel cap boots. Make that *^$%#@ impossible!

Hello Barry,

I have fitted a column indicator to my wife's traveller. The actual wiring was easy, just a matter of extending and fitting connectors (bullet type was my choice) in place of the original multi plug. The switch I used was from a Triumph 2000 Mk2, simply as I had one in my spares.
The most difficult bit was making a shroud for the switch.
