I've finally found where that wispy smoke is coming from. Its coming from out the end of this pipe on the nearside front of the engine. Whats this a symptom of?

That's the breather pipe.

Worn engine!!

Blocked engine breather tubes will give rise to higher engine pressure and oil will find its way out somewhere.

You don’t need to. It is obvious that it is clear and venting the crankcase pressure arising from the worn bores, pistons and/or piston rings. Later engines had engine breather systems which fed back into the engine inlet manifold by one route or another.
