Hitting the fruit and veg display used to be a regular occurrence at the the grocery shop at the bottom of Bell Lane, Blockley, Glos (Father Brown territory).

Traditional UK Bus/Coach builders that dominated most of the last century, 1900s until the 1980s in some cases.
The archetypal London Bus, for example, were by AEC.

Built in May 1899 by the Lancashire Steam Motor Company (which later became Leyland Motors), the very first Leyland passenger bus was a steam-powered vehicle with 18 seats and a top speed of 8 mph, delivered to the Dundee & District Tramways Company.
