Very much so. The air flow is very different to a standard air filter set up so at a minimum the mixture needs readjusting. However, just setting the idle mixture is not enough as the mixture can become lean at larger throttle openings so a different profile needle would be needed as well and that might not be something that could be determined without a rolling road and O2 sensor. Although it would look extremely cool with triple carburettors on a 1930's racing car I would not want to pull dust and fine grit into the engine of an ordinary road car. All that abrasive dust will end up in the oil forming a dilute grinding paste.
