So I bought Rachel a 1954 Series II from an estate...no one knows anything about it except it was imported from Denmark during Covid...

I thought it was grey car painted black by someone before me...but the more I look at it...

I see red and I see orange...red is on the A-pillars and the orange is showing up where the front wings mount...

The back end of the car appears to have gray and green under the black paint...

Any thoughts fellow Morris Minor folks?

Thanks for any insight.

FBJ

= Morris 2 door saloon Dark Grey

31/

=LHD Synthetic paint

So looks like yours might be a partial 'frankencar' unless the lowest colour other than the red primer is grey.....I think the dark grey would have been Clarendon Grey around 1953/54

Look in the engine bay, on the bulkhead between where the bonnet release rod and the throttle cable come through. You should find some numbers stamped into the bulkhead - you may need to move the wiring harness and clean the area. Do the numbers match those stamped on the chassis plate? If yes, then use the chassis number to obtain a Heritage Certificate https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/ar ... rtificates. You can then check features of the car against the details on the certificate. Are all the details of the car correct for a 1954 Series II vehicle?
