Series 2 horn tone adjustment

Hi,
I was just wondering if the tone on the horn in my Series 2 can be adjusted (note higher / lower)?
Mine is the original brass nutted type.
The reason is simply that I like the tone of my Heralds horn and wondered if the tone of the one on my Morris could be altered nearer to it.

No you can't really adjust the frequency (pitch). You can adjust the character of the note slightly and also optimise it for loudness but the fundamental frequency is determined by the physical characteristics of the horn's design. The high tone and low tone horns operate at certain narrow frequency ranges. I forget the exact frequencies in Herz but it is in one of the Lucas workshop manuals.

If the horn sounds bad it is probably not operating properly. My car is later so I do not have experience of the earlier horns. I have successfully resurrected several Lucas 9H horns.
