Anyone want to save my dad's old Wolf Super Safetymaster electric drill from landfill? For restoration, it works intermittently, but definitely needs restoring and rewiring. Complete with chuck key. Collection from CR0 8HW or will post at cost.

Hope someone saves it. I’ve got a similar age and size Wolf drill, goldy brown colour, not used for years but I’d never get rid.

I also have an old Wolf drill which I bought more than 50 years ago. Still works fine.
I expect that only needs a clean up, some new brushes perhaps and a new cable before it lasts another half century

Have you thought of "Men's Sheds"? Our Andover version takes in tools and sells them at quite low prices. (I've taken advantage both ways.) That way, yours might find a good home.

A second thought. Firstly, shouldn't it be a family heirloom?
And secondly, your local "Repair Shop" will check it and get it going properly. As an example of their work, I took a drill that was given to me by an ancient uncle, a 1940s Alberson & Co, Inc (of Sioux City USA) 5/16 inch "Heavy Duty Drill" which weighs a ton but which you can lean on all day as it grinds away, which came with the warning "that he's a good 'un but wrap him in a dry cloth 'cos he can tingle a bit". Sure enough, the internal earth of its metal casing had become detached, which my local "Repair Shop" (at "The George", St Mary Bourne SP116BG every first Saturday of the month) fixed, and who replaced the cracked cable with the advice to always use it with a current limiting RCD adaptor in the feed. I probably only use it once in a decade but then just occasionally . . . .

I think one day I'll gift it to a grandchild. MikeN.
