I'm in the process of making myself a little spares kit.

Here's a picture of the top hose. Things don't alighn neatly because I have a 1275 head on a 1098 engine.

The question is whether this is a standard top hose that has been bent into shape or something from something else?Image

This looks a better shape for your set up but only going by picture.
You could ask for measurements from seller.

There's this but I don't know what they mean by "use with straight top pipe radiator"?

I think they mean when the radiator top pipe is straight 90 degrees to header tank.

Yes although the curve looks like it would fit well if it pushed down far enough onto the standard radiator top outlet. Hard to say! Worth a call to ESM.

When I fitted a 1275cc 'A' Series to my Minor I trimmed back the top inlet pipe and used a plain bottom hose. The revised arrangement never gave any problem,

There is a thermostat housing produced that allows for the better alignment of the top hose pipework. If I can find the link I will post on here.
I believe a early MGB thermostat aligns better.
There was at one time a conversion thermostat housing available from David Manners but have not seen one for sale for some time.
See the links below for discussion and possible solution

Thanks, looks like I have some options but best to take it off and compare with a standard one first.

I see various alternatives but what is EPDM?

It's a type of synthetic rubber
