I have just fitted my 12G295 head onto my engine, but since fitting the max oil pressure has increased. Before fitting it used to hold at about 70 lb. Since fitting the new head it has risen to 85.
Before fitting I blew out all the oil ways etc so would be surprised if something was in there. Is it possible I have been unlucky and my oil pressure relief valve has failed at the same time? I have not inspected this yet.
Have I done something wrong?? Should I be worried?

RE: Hihgh Oil Pressure when after changing head
Check to see if any oil is reaching the rocker gear - run the engine with the rocker cover off - there must be plenty of oil oozing out from all the rockers ! If not - then something has blocked the feed to the rocker gear - first thought is - is it the same rocker gear as before ? If not - check that the pillar with the hole is above the feed hole coming up from the head. Second thought is maybe head gasket on wrongly although all I have seen have oil-way holes at both ends - just in case !

I have just run the engine with the rocker cover removed and there does not seem to be too much oil oosing out from the rockers. That said, the whole area is very oily, whcih is wan't when the head was fitted, so I can only assume oil is getting to this area via the rocker shaft? Might i have a partial blockage?
