Morris Minor Owners Club

Morning, and apologies if this topic has been posted before but I couldn't find it after doing a quick search.

Can anybody recommend a good Morris Minor mechanic in London? I live in Waterloo so I can easily get to most places. The mechanic I use at the moment is very friendly, but I'm not entirely sure they know what they're doing. I've just had a new clutch fitted after an issue with the flywheel bearings, but the car won't accelerate at high revs and needs adjusting. I've also just had a new servo and master cylinder fitted after the rear brakes completely locked and the car wouldn't move at all, so I want to check that's all been done correctly.

I don't know of anybody local to you but for bigger work, remember workshops such as the Morris Minor Workshop in East Sussex will collect cars in their covered van. Of course they charge a certain fee per mile but they told me recently they were going to pick up a car from Frankfurt in Germany! You could have the car collected and then when the car is fixed, go by train to Stonegate where they will pick you up and then you drive home from there. Not really ideal for small jobs but at least they know what they're doing.

If the car does need transporting I would also obtain some quotes from other places.
I once asked ESM for a quote and it was double those I received from car transporters near me.
I decided not to use them for some engine work.

I used Shiply today to get quotes and have booked one for next week. Let you know how it goes.

It all happened perfectly this morning, I'm pleased to report. The transport I picked (not the cheapest) wrote detailed timely messages with his name and this gave me confidence. I shall use him again, as and when I need.

If only my Morris was as reliable!
