Morris Minor Owners Club

Does anyone know of any decent autojumbles taking place this summer, ideally in the southeast, where I might find Morris parts?

Was thinking of going to Beaulieu’s spring event but comments I read online suggested that it (and especially the September one) had become a victim of its own success, with sellers charging huge sums. Or is it still worth a visit?

There are bargains and bits that are difficult to locate which can be found at Beaulieu. I think it is worth a visit. The September one is bigger and international in nature. My problem is that the organisers are letting in sellers of toot and junk so it is occasionally like a boot sale rather than an autojumble, but this is common to many - Arminghall, Enfield Pageant etc.

Spring date is also the Moggyfest gathering so the locals club has its spares and MMOC spares are there too.

If you need parts maybe you have no choice, however if it’s becoming expensive, sitting at home using online market places could be an alternative but if you like to look around take the trip. I can’t be asked these days unless it’s local, too much traffic, plus no projects now.

One of the reasons that traders ask high prices for parts at autojumbles will be that the organisers ask high prices for the pitches.
If the traders don't pass this on, they'll be losing money.

Ebay and so-on is no different. Ebay does still provide a few bargains but much for sale there now has a fixed asking price (rather than it being an auction site as was the original intention) and these prices often seem rather high to me.

Yup. Reality is - Gate-money to these events can be very high. It's very possible to finish the day working for the fuel-bill and event-organiser. Someone has to pay, and that'd be you. I'm always amazed how the general buyer really believes the money he pays stays in the pocket of the seller. Talks of greed blah - never his greed - his will not to open his wallet, it's the other bloke?

Like pubs, you see F&C disappearing fast. In my local fish & chip shop the other day, £10.00 is going-broke for them. Not according to half the queue it isn't. We don't want the world owned by Amazon. Please support small businesses when you can. And pay cash.

Probably best to just search for what is within what you consider an appropriate distance.

We had a fairly quiet Branch meeting this week as many people couldn't attend for various reasons, but those of us there had a wide range of discussion subjects, including which Autojumbles were worth attending.
The biggest in the East Midlands is the Newark one, it brings in traders from far and wide, but it can be variable on the numbers, both traders and visitors. https://www.newarkautojumble.co.uk/classics/
I like it because it's only about 25 minutes drive and Classics get to park inside the grounds rather than out in the parking area.
Which means that I can get back to the car quite easily to drop stuff off in the boot, if I go and buy anything a bit difficult to carry.
