Brake drum seals

Post by Bill_qaz »

On minor 1000 with no hole in wheel, does anyone bother fitting the sealing plug in the round drum hole for adjusting the brakes.
Its listed in the manual but the wheel covers the hole anyway.

I am aware of that part but my car has never had those fitted and I have never even seen one. I did at one time look to see if I could find the part but decided that they serve no useful function. The drum is not sealed around the circumference anyway so what is the point of the seal?

Not fitted to my car's drums either. No access hole in the wheels. The adjustment hole in the drum is covered by the wheel centre too.
