Use of Speedi Sleeve on Alloy Hub

I have a problem with one my front alloy hubs (supplied with a Ford front disc brake conversion) where the outer bearing cup has worked itself loose on the alloy hub (it should be a nice tight interference fit, however, on mine there is approx. 0.5mm of play at each side).
I was wondering if anyone has repaired such a problem with the use of Speedi Sleeves?
You can buy a 40mm Speedi Sleeve, which should match the outer diameter of the outer bearing.
Alternatively, does anyone know if the steel hubs give the same wheel track spacing as the alloy hubs, as I may consider replacing it for one if so.
Thanks for any advice!
