Window Regulator problem

Hello all
I’m having an issue with the front drivers door of my 58 saloon.
Before stripping down I don’t recall using the window very much if at all but do recall it being clunky. Upon stripping the car down I’ve discovered that the regulator was heavily bent and twisted and the guide for the glass was corroded. I’ve fitted a new regulator from ESM and obtained a new guide for the glass.
The problem I’m now having is that the arm of the regulator even without the runner on is hitting the door latch mechanism inside the door. I’ve attached a picture.. but don’t know how much help it is. I’m just wondering if there are some spacers or something that I’ve done wrong which is leaving the window regulator too close to the inner skin of the door and causing it to hit the latch.
Many thanks as always
Duncan
