I’m trying to reunite a set of keys with a Morris Minor which belonged to my Grandmother and had the registration WYE 411. Don’t know if it’s survived the years but if it has, please get in touch. I can send pic of the keys and of the car. Thanks.

I'm afraid to say that the WYE 411 registration is not found on the DVLA road tax and MoT checking website.
This means that it is very unlikely that the car has survived. It is not impossible though but if the car has survived it has not retained the registration number.

It is a really interesting point, though not applicable to Minors.
Given the cost of programming keys to modern cars and the number of cars sold with only one set I have often thought a key amnesty is required.
There must be thousands of car keys hanging around homes that are as we say in Yorkshire "neither use nor ornament" to their keepers.

Thanks for checking. I thought it was a long shot but… So do you think they could be useful for a different morris minor. 1533232 is the reference stamped on the keys which are Yale branded and state, ‘Finder will be rewarded by RAC’.

That sounds like one of the keys that used to be issued to members of the breakdown services to access the RAC/AA telephone boxes.

That would make sense…
In my childhood we had a morris minor pick-up (‘the little truck’) and I looked at these keys and the shape didn’t feel right… That solves it! Thanks all.

Yes, they are call box door keys, clearly not car keys.
If it's like mine, I reckon there's an AA logo on their other sides.
I hope Granny didn't keep the car's reg with its keys
