Not the best photo… but finally picked my girl up today. Everybody meet Nellie (formally Daisy but I’m changing it

)
It hasn’t fully sunk in yet that I actually own a classic… after more than 20 years of wanting one.. wow!
I can’t wait to get comfortable with driving etc so the adventures can really begin!
ETA. I don’t know why the photo is sideways

You know it’s funny… I initially disregarded the ad when a friend sent it over as I was set on a green moggie, wasn’t too taken with the blue. But the same friend had already messaged the seller on my behalf, he got in touch and asked if I wanted to meet her as she was just up the road… I thought why not… and now she’s sitting on my drive!
And I love the colour

Well done nice Christmas present
If you slightly crop the picture, it then posts them the correct way around. Don't know why it just a quirk of the forum

Clipper Blue Used February 1959 - October 1961. Earlier versions, up to July 1960 had Pearl Grey Grille and wheels. Later had OEW grille and wheels. A lovely colour.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone… and thanks for the photo tip!
She is clipper blue yes, although after 65 years she has faded a little, all paintwork is original except the bonnet, which was resprayed a couple of years ago.
Now I just need to get used to driving her… I’m going from a modern automatic… very different

When switching from a modern car, remember to allow for the Minor requiring a greater braking force

.
And once you've adapted, when you get back into the modern, be prepared for the first few brakings to plummet your head onto the windscreen

.

Haha thanks for the tip!
I’ve had a little go in her, just round an empty carpark… I didn’t find it easy, but not as terrible as I was expecting. She’s certainly very forgiving and I wasn’t at all put off. I know once I master her she’s going to be great fun!
We are keeping our modern car for longer trips but Nellie will be my daily, I likely won’t use the modern unless I absolutely have to.

Very nice. A lovely colour. Looks to have wider wheels fitted. Enjoy it!
