Finding my grandfathers Moggy - A long shot

My Grandfathers Moggy was sold in haste after his death in the 1970's by my dad, also long gone now. I've had a sudden urge to see if it's still running.

My first car was a 1962 4-door which was eventually stolen in London and stripped overnight of all 4 tyres and engine! It's reg was WUJ268.

Going through some old photos, I think maybe the one attached is of my Grandfathers Moggy. The reg is quite hard to pinpoint but it looks like NVL563.

If anyone could shed light on this I'd be very grateful.

According the Gov.uk MoT and Tax checking website NVL 563 (and also HVL 563) are not found. Perhaps the car did not survive until the records were computerised.

Nor is there any record of WUJ 268 sadly.

Yeah, thanks Stephen. I did check those sources too. I guess it was wishful thinking if might appear from elsewhere, locked away in a barn or similar.

Oh well. I am getting the urge to own one again so it's time to find somewhere to house it then begin the search.

WUJ268 still known to the dvla however recorded as being scrapped
Your grandfathers car could still be around on a different reg ?
