They just messaged me that they've no longer got a partnership with mmoc...interesting, I suppose they've got too inflexible or something? Been fairly happy with them myself but my car only has a few mods (at the moment

).

Any chance of pasting a copy of the message details, haven't had anything like this from them myself and renewal is coming up soon... however my Mother did get the message I've just learnt, maybe because she's an online user and I have my documents etc. posted.

Every second year, FJ would lose my MMOC discount, give me a scare by sending my a quote that was triple the price of the previous year, claim my previous year had been a system error and this was and should always have been the correct price, then when queried discover they'd forgotten the MMOC discount and bring the costs back to sensible levels

So, I'm curious whether this is true or not, can the MMOC confirm this or will it turn out to be an administrative error on their (FJ's) part.

I was at the AGM a few months ago, I recollect there was some chat about reviewing the insurance partnership, though there is nothing recorded in the Minutes so nothing was formally proposed or voted upon.

Though if this has now happened, the club should be on the ball in updating the Members area of the website and keeping members informed.
Not necessarily by plastering it over Public Social Media such as this, but perhaps by a direct email in addition to updating the website....

If I understand correctly, you have not got the car yet, so there is no rush to insure. With that in mind, at the beginning of November the MMOC will be making a really exciting announcement about insurance. I think that you will find it both relevant and beneficial Don't do anything until you have seen the announcement.

Thanks for that quote, I must have missed that post, maybe the MMOC are going to include multi-car insurance for free with our membership fee

I recievied email.this morning from.footman james saying there not part of mmoc anymore and that.it wasn't there decision but can still offer competitive insurance my renewal for insurance is 28 of this month so I won't be renewing until heard from club

I got the email today, the 8th, from Footman James and it was a shock. I’m really surprised members didn’t receive an email from the club first, just as a matter of courtesy.

Having been a member since 1979, it’s very disappointing. I only renew my membership now so I can get the specialised insurance and I don’t want to have to jump through the hoops with a new insurer, so I will seriously consider staying with them, depending upon the premium.

I got quoted 180 pound for this year renewal did online go compare one company was 80 other was 140 but not shure whether they offerd agreed value or right to retain the vehicle in case of write off waiting patiently for email or notice on here as I think myclub membership is due for renewal too and cant get in members area to check if any updates are in there let's hope we all hear something soon

Unfortunate that a change of partnerships has not been seamless, but these things happen sometimes...

Over the years I've used two other companies:
Carol Nash, who suddenly dropped out of the classic market a couple of years ago (but paid me £50 for handling the comms so badly!)
And Adrian Flux, who charge me £160 for a pair of Minors, agreed value, and European use.
I can't comment on their claims process, as I've never had to use it. [touches wood

If the MMOC partnership with FJ has come to an end re the message from FJ, then what about the members who's insurance has come up or coming up for renewal this month, the early November MMOC insurance announcement is a bit late...

An earlier announcement from the MMOC would be beneficial...

I knew I'd heard a mention of insurance when I was at the AGM; the preceding Branch Liaison Meeting has covered it earlier in the day (which was before I got there).

My van was with Footman James until March but the price they wanted kept going up and my van broke down in February and would not send out a breakdown as they said it was to cold for them so luckily I fixed it and now with another company which I had my MG insured with.

So easy to get it wrong but reading the announcement from fJ, saying it wasn’t their decision, I can’t help conclude the MMOC decided to end the agreement, as hinted at that branch meeting by suggesting it was time to act on behalf of members. Am I right in thinking this ?

Sounds logical, but only the club can confirm. All may become clear in due course.......

Hi,
I have had the same message from Footman James, via email, today.
Like everybody else, this is 'news to me'.
I hope our new committee don't now view themselves as management, the MMOC as a business and its members as their employees......
Namely to be kept in the dark and fed mushrooms.......

As said previously, they should have informed everybody before we heard it first from FJ.
Unimpressed.
