Morning guys
Just wondering if anyone has a better fix before I try mine??
How do you stop the soft top frame scratching the rear windows???
I know …. Be careful will be a common thought..
I’m thinking perhaps lining with the felt side of some Velcro tape!!
Anyone else had an epiphany on it???

That just shouldn't be able to happen and it never has with my factory convertible. My hood is up and wet. I will take some photos when It is dry and can be folded down.

I'd suggest your hood frame is bent/distorted in some way.

Hood frames often become bent due to people trying to raise the hood on their own from one side of the car. To raise the hood as a single person job, stand in the back of the car and raise the hood almost vertically until it is fully extended. Then lower into place. The hood frame can also have excessive movement due to wear where it is riveted together.

Looking at your photo it is clear that the hood horizontal ribs have been scratching the paint off the window frames on the inside. That should not happen either.

PS: if you edit a photo even with a very small crop and then post it to the forum it will magically appear the right way up. I don't know why that works but it does.

It's hard to get a good angle for a photo but the hood frame is nowhere close to touching the window.

When lowering the hood to go for a day's touring it is best to allow the hood to come off the frame sticks so that the hood is draping over the boot. Then pick up the hood material and fold it back over the frame and secure under the hood cover. Never go driving without the hood cover in place or the wind can cause the hood and frame to suddenly billow causing damage to both.

I know the feeling. I have a growing list of winter jobs too. Only problem is I get so cold in the garage!
