I have noticed play in the top and bottom links of my Spax shock absorbers fitted at the rear. Having taken them off, there is play between the bolt and the steel bush. I have ordered some new bolts, but on making inquiries to Spax, have been quoted £6.74 for each replacement bush plus a whopping £14.99 carriage.
Does anyone know of an alternative source of the these bushes? The part number is 0060151 and they have BB10 printed on the outside, and, according to Spax's specs, an outside diameter of 22.73mm, length of 25.00mm and an inside diameter of 9.60mm.

Seems to be an issue with delivery.They make you take first class and lots of packaging and happily charge for it.In this case could be more than the order.Annoys me when there seems no need.

Personally I would be reaming the bush centre tube and fit suitable 10mm bolts.
I have a pair of SPAX gas adjustable dampers with BB10 bushes fitted and I have just checked whether the metal insert could be reamed and it looks to be a very easy job to ream.

A 3/8" bolt is a better fit in the SPAX bush.

Thanks Phil, just the information I needed. I have actually ordered some 3/8 bolts, but as I don’t have a reamer, I will buy some new bushes from Mini-spares. It works out at less than half the price of ordering direct from Spax!

Should the outside rubber part of the bush be lubricated on replacement, to make it slide in easier, or just the internal part of the metal bush where the bolt goes through?

I always lightly coat the outside of the bush with silicon oil which helps the rubber bush slide into place.
