Hi I have a 2litre fiat twincam new coil new electronic distributor new coil yesterday driving along the engine just stopped, the ignition light and oil light came on pushed starter button and it fired back up any ideas guys

I’d start with what you’ve recently done to the vehicle, wiring wise and connections. Another case of guessing from a distance. Good luck though.

A temporary blockage in the fuel supply would more likely manifest as coughing and spluttering before dying. A sudden stoppage like the OP reports suggests an electrical fault, but temporary so could be a poor connection - or a substandard/damaged/failing component of the ignition system.
See if it happens again.....

I totally agree, a sudden total failure of the engine to run, equivalent to switching it off, is only attributable to an electrical failure; by which I mean the Ignition system suddenly not providing a spark.

then 99.999% that is where the problem lays (there's always that remote 0.001% possibility that it's external influences).
Look at wiring or even the new coil itself may have a intermittent connection inside it....

The fact that it just stopped suddenly does sound more like an electrical fault. Since it started right back up, I’d be leaning towards a poor connection somewhere or possibly a failing ignition component, even if it’s new. Sometimes new parts can still be faulty.
