Bronze face speedometer

While sorting through my accumulated parts last night, I found that one of my speedometers is marked for KPH instead of MPH. It's unfortunately missing it's needles for both the fuel gauge and the speedometer. Wasn't aware of a KMH version! I wonder, in fact, if the odometer is calibrated for Kilometers as well..... AND, there's no 44XX number on the dial.....
Corrected KMH to KPH because silly mistake of course

What's the SN44**/** number?

I'll see if it's in the AKD 3541 manual.
There were something like 14 or 15 MPH Speedos, and about 9 or 10 KPH ones, just on the Minor 1000 S3 & S5 models.

Seems that they had model numbers to match up rear axle ratios to speedometers. I found an Australian website that is selling one, so Morris/Smiths provided appropriate units for the market. Not surprising, really; just odd that I have one here in Florida. No telling what history follows the two donor cars, or my '57 for that matter.

I've just re-read your post and realised you said
AND, there's no 44XX number on the dial.....
or did you edit that bit too??
Oh well...

Actually you missed a KMH

It's the SN number that denotes it's overall configuration. Whilst they may have called it Serial Number, it's actually a Model Number.
Is there anything in very small numbers on the front?
I've never seen anything of relevance on the back, usually just Smiths company details.

No number on the front that I can discern. Odd. Someone along the years hand wrote MPH equivalents on the dial. Very faint, fortunately.
