There are felt bushes which prevent 'slapping' in the steering wheel. The steering rack in clamped under the toeboard. What exactly are you referring to?

betjent was asking about the column not the rack, however there are two small brass spring loaded dampers fitted either side of the actual rack, they firm up the rack and reduce the rattle. Maybe these are what he wanted. esm should have them.
