Any ideas what this car is ?

I was out in Stockport town centre this morning and spotted this on waste land behind a building that has recently been demolished. Any ideas what make and model it is ? See the fuel tank appears to be mounted up on the baulkhead.

They suggest the Mercedes 170 s/v/d
That metal plate on the bulkhead may hold some clues if you managed to get closer...
This is a 170V engine bay, the tanks right but the funnel/pipe is missing:

Thank you Moggiethouable for highlighting my incorrect tense usage, but I’m curious that you felt the need to. Especially as my original post is now over 16 months ago and been viewed nearly 4000 times, without anyone else feeling the need to.
