Can anyone tell me what this is please?

The inside of the lower piece is threaded, like like the same thread as on the rear axle, where the hub nut fits.
It was given to me, I think it's some sort of puller or extractor.

I have one, it is a hub puller/extractor for an Austin 7. You can still get them new if you want another!
