Removing inner wheel bearing

I am in the process of replacing the swivel pins, trunnions etc and have reached a problem trying to remove the inner wheel bearing. The brakes are a Marina disc conversion. I understand it is fitted over an adaptor on the axle (I fitted it over 25 years ago!), but I cannot see a way to grip it to pull it out. Any ideas?

You could try using two utility bars

hooked around the back of the bearing with the utility bar rear face pressing against the head of the mounting bracket bolt.
Pressing on both bars at the same time should push the bearing (and top hat spacer/adapter) off the stub axle.
When refitting the bearing inner race should be a nice sliding fit over the sleeve of the top hat spacer/adapter.
This is the adapter used when fitting the Marina hub to the Minor stub axle:-

The adapter should be a nice easy push onto the stub axle.

Thanks Phil. I did not have any such bars, but a couple of claw hammers finally over came it. The adaptor looks a tight fit and remains in place, so I may have to buy a new pair if I cannot pull it off without damaging it.

With a blow torch gently warm the adapter sleeve. The adapter sleeve will expand and come loose whilst the stub axle remains the same.
Been there and done that quite a few times now.
The adapter sleeve needs to be removed as they are out of stock at ESM.
It should be noted that ESM bought the remaining adapter sleeve stock from Bull Motif so if ESM do not have any I am not aware of any remaining stock anywhere.
But please come back to me if you have problems removing the adapter sleeve.
Phil

Thanks Phil. I will try some heat and careful movement. I saw ESM are out of stock, so thanks for the heads up on availability.

Remove the hub seal before applying heat.

Mission accomplished! Now to put everything back together and then tackle the other side.
