Thanks for sharing that nostalgia. I did wonder how after only 6-years since production had ceased, that the Minor could be considered anywhere near a classic but it certainly is now.

Yes in 1977 it was only 6 years since the Traveller production ended but convertible production ended 8 years previously and saloon 7 years. By 1977 there were some very old Minors on the road with production starting in 1948! Certainly the lowlights and Series II were classics in 1977.
My car was only 8 in 1969 but many Minors rusted away very quickly indeed. Having spoken to some of the old dealers in Minors, they tell me that for inexplicable reasons some cars rusted to death very quickly whereas others seemed far more robust. Perhaps they were the "Friday cars" or lemons.....
