Good afternoon to everyone. First, I hope I'm not shortcutting any rules for posting - if I am, well, I'm brand new to the forum and and this is my first minor and perhaps someone will be kind enough to put me right! My Minor 1000 is a 1967 two door - standard green. It's rather untidy presently - I prefer to buy them like that (I previously had Triumph Heralds) because they tend to be cheaper and it isn't the driving which interests me, it's the doing up. So, the SU which I've had completely refurbed by Carbcare (Mr. Fielding) is lacking a piece which holds the cable steady. It's a kind of clamp arrangement. It's shown in the Haynes Manual, but on some SU carb., diagrams there doesn't appear to be one! When anyone gets a moment would you be kind enough to either, tell how it should be or, if I'm in the wrong place - point me at the correct one.

When you say holds the cable steady I am not sure whether you mean the actual pinch bolts that attach the accelerator and choke cable to the carburettor or the cable guide for the accelerator cable. The cable guide is a kind of bracket with a boss on it that the cable feeds through. That boss has a large hole on one side that the whole cable (outer and inner) fits in. The hole then becomes narrow so that only the thinner inner cable goes through and on to the carburettor.

Many thanks for the replies to my question regarding throttle/choke connections. From your pictures and links, it appears that I have some parts missing - that the carb., not me! I've realised from this, that my joining fee was money very well spent. Once again, thanks, and hopefully I'll be able to post soon regarding success.
