Can anyone tell me if the sump from a 1098 will fit a 1275 ??

Yes it will but it MAY not seal as well as the 1275 one as the walls on the front and back seals are not as tall on the 1098 type.

I ran my 1380 (ex-Ital 1275) with a 1098 sump on for years and it did drip a bit of oil but it was OK. I'd advise the use of the rubber type front and back seals though (with hylomar blue as well) as they seal much better than the original cork types.

Thanks Cam - I have the chance of a 1275 block, but I will need to strip all the gubbins off one of my 1098 engines to make it a go-er.
