Is it just me, the forum has been slow for a couple of days, today it is very slow with server error messages.

Yes, slow and server error. Spider doing well though.

I couldn't even access it at all, no errors etc. just too slow to load but never timing out - seems find now though.

One thing though is, another forum I was visiting which is also phpbb has the exact same issue going on, maybe a recent board update is the cause?

The forum does appear to be back to normal after failing completely last night and this morning.

This was a DOS / DDOS attack against the board. I shut down the server to protect it and have now installed additional protection, hopefully this will solve the issue. There has been no loss or breach of data. I can understand (but not condone) the bad guys attacking M&S, Co-op and Harrods, but why pick on the MMOC?

Hopefully all will now be OK for a while.

Seems to be up and running at the moment, but a bit slow still.
