I want to restore my handbrake assembly and would like to know how one of the fittings come apart please. I’ve circled the part in red. Many thanks in advance

The pivot pin in question is a press fit into the two bosses on the side of the lever.
It can be removed but you do require a press and a couple of suitable sockets to go over and around the two bosses. You will also need a suitable press pin of 8.5mm dia to press the pivot pin out of the two bosses.

Thank you. I think I’ll see if I can clean and work around it and leave it be in that case

It's easy enough to work around.
My Basil had a chrome handbrake lever, possible from a Mini Cooper or such, which has a different attachment arrangement.
I found a SII handle and stripped it down, apart from that pivot point fitting, and overhauled it quite successfully.
The anodised finished being replaced with antique gold paint to match the other similarly painted parts, like steering column.
