Diff pinion nut

Post by vox1 »

I know this has been covered several times but I thought I would share a very successful removal and replacement diff pinion nut. I used a length of slotted angle iron to rest on either spring and it really worked well. Picture shows doing the nut up. The process for undoing the nut was by resting the angle iron on the other spring. Where in this picture the angle iron is bolted to the flange by the right hand nut and bolt and rests on a free nut and bolt to the left, the process to undo was rest the iron on the other spring and bolt to the flange with the left nut and bolt, and rest on the right. I used a piece of wood so as not to damage the spring.
