I don't know, but it's only fifty pence a gallon!

Re: Leaded petrol.
I can remember when it was 4s 11 1/2d and when it went up to 5s it was thought that the motor trade would collapse.
Seeing those petrol pumps in the picture above reminds me of the many gallons that I served and when the power was down turning the crank handle to deliver petrol when I as a lowly apprentice in the BMC garage. Happy days.

That'd be about the same time that four spark plugs cost five bob.

Re: Leaded petrol.
6 / 8 a gallon, or 3 gallons for a pound when I started buying it in 1971.

Re: Leaded petrol.
A few shillings a gallon, them were the days, and you could earn £3 15s 3p a week, when I started my apprenticeship !!
I know it’s all relative but makes you think !

In 1968 local garage offered 4 gallons for a pound, plus quadruple Green Shield stamps (remember them?).

Re: Leaded petrol.
I got two record G clamps for my green shield stamps, still got one of them, left the other on a job, to this day I can’t remember where.
