Scroll seal
Is this feature of the Minor something that can wear ? I can’t visualised how it looks, despite knowing its function. I’m not aware that this scroll feature actually rubs against anything, rather than acting similar to a bearing. Help clarify please !

Not a bearing, no actual contact ( unless you have wear) more like a screw oil pump directing any oil back to the sump.

Many thanks for that picture, accepted there is no actual contact, I presume it cannot wear then ?

Should have said, unless you have wear in the main bearing, allowing the scroll contact...

Re: Scroll seal
Make sure that the top half of the scroll cap is centred correctly. If the cap is not centred the cap can rub against the scroll and wear away the scroll leading to oil leaking past the scroll.
