Heated rear window.

I have got a stick on heated rear window with a 3mm gap where the foil is broken.
I know you can buy conductive paint to join the gap, but is there a home remedy for this problem?
Would zinc paint do the job? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks
John

A thin smear of Copaslip?

Well Zinc is conductive but I'm not sure that 'zinc paint' is as conductive as you would need to do the job.
Then there would be a dissimilar metals issue with the element itself.

Personally I'd stick with the dedicated repair kits which start from around £4.

The conductive silver paint IS the home remedy.

Sellotape and tin foil and a pair of scissors...
