ohm reading

does anyone know what the ohm readings are on 57 fuel sender unit, ohms full ohms empty. as i am installing new gauges and need to get the correct fuel gauge in 12v.

NO I cannot quote the resistance readings but I can state that
you MUST fit the correct type of tank sender unit. Your car would
have a sender unit which uses a NUT to secure the lead NOT a Lucar
push on connector. All Lucar connector types are for the 1098 engined
cars. Unfortunately the first two years of 1098 cars used nutted sender
units too so you can still get it wrong unless you know for certain which
year the donor unit came from. I have written the following notes
from when I was undergoing this problem some time ago: the
measurements are between the terminal and the body.
"EARLY SENDERS= high resistance when full, and full short when empty.
LATE(1098)SENDERS= short when full, and high resistance when empty"

thanks for the info mines a 948 engine so i'll start with the early readings and go from there.
