Differential Oil and Quantity

I am in the process of overhauling my new project, a Morris van. I want to change the oil in the diff and I am using Castrol EP 90 GL4 Spec. Will 1 litre be enough? And how often do you change the oil in the diff? My other van hasn't had a diff oil change since I owned her (12 years) and will do her as well. I am thinking two litres should be sufficient for both vans?

Two litres is fine for two diffs, mine seemed to want a bit more but a litre is sufficient, if the van is not perfectly level the capacity can vary. Officially the amount is apparently just less than a litre.

Thanks Les. I recently moved house and all my Morris books are in boxes somewhere in the depths of my garage etc! I am planning to install the new petrol tank in my new project. There was a post on this forum and I am fairly sure you replied to it with a photo of a van chassis with the petrol tank in situ. For some reason I can't find that image again.

What size bolts did you use?

Well from memory 1/4 inch BSF. In fact they may have been set screws, it’s going back a while ! ———— and I’m not with the van to check for you.
