Big lot of used body parts for sale

Post by don58van »

There is a very big job lot of Minor used body parts up for grabs on 'fleabay'. Search for Number 176738766257. Something for club spares to take a look at?

Some interesting stuff and a fair bit of non-Minor (and modern) bits too. A case of look carefully before you buy, I think. The older seats and SII bonnet look particularly appetising.

It Says "THIS IS AVAILABLE FOR A VERY LIMITED TIME AS WE ARE SENDING IT ALL TO SCRAP".
Not worth £1500 in scrap, so best get some offers in.

"Collection in person only..."
So a lorry and a big space for storage required! Be a shame for it all to be scrapped.

....and being prepared - I guess - to drive into London and pay the charges now :-(

Ebay is supposed to be an auction site. To say it is £1500.00 or it goes for scrap seems a bit daft. It is worth practically nothing as scrap, so they might as well get what they can for it. There is some good stuff there (among all the pretty useless stuff) so a shame to waste it, but seriously, who has got the space to give it all a new home AND collect it all from London??

i've emailed ESM who said their purchasing department will have a look at it. Makes sense for them to offer £1k, drive up in a lorry and take what they want.

no idea why they would scrap it... seems slightly vindictive

It's like a lot of things, you see people saying "I don't want to scrap it, but I need the space" and "I've been trying to get rid of this for XX number of weeks/months and it has to go or be scapped" etc. so I don't think it's vindictiveness.
