Hi All

I'm pretty sure that I have a a 1 1/4" SU carb on my 1957 Morris Minor 948. My Dad is trying to help me out by stripping it down and getting me to order a rebuild kit. He's spoken top a company up North who have told him to order a ESM CRK226, but this shows as early 918 and 803.

Below is a photo of my carb. Please can anyone help me identify correctly. I'd be very grateful.

Talk directly to Burlin fuel. They are SU. And they supply everyone else with SU parts.

Hi MsRose,

Here's the link to SU Burlen's spares page for all Morris Minor's - the 1957 onwards 948cc models are towards the bottom of the page.

SU Burlen Ltd are based in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

To my inexpert eye, from the looks of it it's an H2 Carb, which is right for the 948.

But as others have said, talk direct to Burlen/SU as they can help you establish it exactly; they'll know any small differences which would confirm the type.

The carb is a H2 item.
There should be a tag on the carb which gives the carb number and from that can be determined the parts required.
If there is no tag (they are often lost) this is the service kit for the H2 carb:-
